GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To provide students with knowledge of the legal and operational requirements used in the preparation and execution of leak tightness tests. This course will present information obtained in the initial basic training.

 ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

At the end of the course, the student will have knowledge about:

  • Basic knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing;
  • Physical quantities and their units (pressure and temperature);
  • The purpose of the leak test;
  • Types of leak testing;
  • Special characteristics of the systems to be tested;
  • Study on NR 34.12;
  • Applicable Technical Standards;
  • Personal and collective protective equipment;
  • How to perform the leak test;
  • Risk identification and hazard analysis;
  • Leak testing practices.

FIELD OF ACTION

The professional may work in the naval industry segment, performing watertightness tests, as described in NR 34.12

Methodology

It will take place in two stages: the first through theoretical classes with presentation of the content of the teaching material as well as videos, consolidation exercises and complementary reading. The second stage is through practices and simulations of the content covered in the classroom.
