1 – GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To train operators in the safe operation of forklifts, aiming at their professional qualification, developing in trainees the ability to operate them safely and efficiently, in order to avoid accidents and preserve the good condition of the machine. Meeting the requirements of Regulatory Standards NR-11, NR-12, NR-17, NR-26 and NR-34.

2 – KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED

• Knowledge of vehicle classification by manufacturer, size, fuel and application;
• Understand frontal stability (support point – lever principle) and lateral stability (center of gravity, base and center of load);
• Knowledge of vehicle components (engine, transmission, clutch, differential, chassis and counterweight, hydraulic system, lifting system, tires, dashboard controls and instruments);
• Know the NR11 Operating Rules of the Ministry of Labor, including safety rules and basic operating rules – starting, ramps, forward, reverse, narrow aisle, maneuverability, obstacles, stopping, parking, movement of normal and special loads, stacking and unstacking techniques;
• NR 34 This Regulatory Standard – NR establishes the minimum requirements and measures for the protection of safety, health and the work environment in the activities of the shipbuilding and repair industry. Compliance with the provisions of this NR does not exempt employers from complying with the provisions contained in other Regulatory Standards, approved by Ordinance No. 3,214/78, of June 8, 1978. According to information and normative procedures regarding the responsibility of the operator of hoisting equipment;
• Check daily maintenance by the operator (checklist);
• Identify the parts of the machine;
• Identify the control levers and instruments on the panel;
• Operate with the machine stopped (recognize the basic movements);
• Operate machine without load (forward/reverse, large/small slalom);
• Operate machines with loads (small slabs, stacking, ramps and others, according to their applications);
• Load capacity certification;
• Signaling;
• Mooring.

3 – FIELD OF ACTION

This professional will be able to work in the movement and storage of loads with a forklift.

4 – TARGET AUDIENCE

The course is aimed at workers directly or indirectly involved in the operation of forklifts.

5 – PREREQUISITES

Completed or ongoing elementary education and National Driver's License B or higher. The candidate for training must be in minimum physical health conditions, certified by a medical examination or equivalent, to be considered fit to perform the exercises and simulations provided for in the course.
